San Francisco

After what we'll call a minor set back during the beginning of my travel,   I made it to San Francisco.  We took an awesome vacation there a few years ago so I was familiar with the area. Upon arrival,  I took the Bart (train/metro) into downtown and walked along the water during my long layover.

I was thrilled to be able to meet up with a close friend and former Calvert teacher, Miss Seely :) and we had a great time catching up. We ate In & Out Burger for lunch ( a first for me) and had a fabulous day taking in the (perfect temperature-68) San Fran air. Helen dropped me off at the airport with ample time for the long flight over to Auckland.

13 hours is definitely not an ideal amount of time to be sitting on a plane. Because my body was confused with the time change and I was sleep deprived,   I slept through dinner. My neighbors on the plane said they put my dinner on the tray and a few hours later threw it away uneaten all the while I was passed out. Missing a meal is definitely not my style so I was not too happy when I woke up. I watched a bunch of movies and NZ Travel documentaries and made it here at 6am on Friday. Basically, I missed out on Thursday all together with the time change.

All in all 31 hours of travel isn't the best case scenario but I'm happy to be here now!
